Our collaborative work is gradually taking shape in Denmark.
Over the past few days, participants in the IMAGINATION TAIWAN workshop have drawn upon their personal experiences and understandings of Taiwan. Together, they have discussed ideas, experimented with different materials, and developed their collaborative work through continuous exchange and adjustment.
From composition and painting to the refinement of details, each step represents more than technical cooperation. It is also an encounter between different creative approaches and values. Working together in the same space, we exchange ideas about freedom, democracy, identity and memory, while exploring how art can present our different understandings of Taiwan.
Taiwan has never had only one story, and freedom is not a completed answer. It exists in every act of expression, every choice we make and every effort to work together. Throughout this creative process, freedom is continually re-examined, understood and practised.
On 10 September, we will hold a public presentation in Odense, Denmark, sharing the works developed during the workshop and the exchanges behind them. We will also discuss how each of us uses our own creative practice to speak about Taiwan and freedom in Denmark.
